Saturday 13 February 2016 marked the Celebration of 30 years of the WECWC.  Every month since then the Walking Club has been out and about meandering through the local countryside (sometimes not so local) and many hundreds of walkers have been part of our group over these years.  As well as walkers living in the West End of Glasgow we have welcomed a huge company of other people who have come to Glasgow to study or to work here.     For all the pleasure we have received from the group we give thanks to its founder, Dr Glenda White, and we offer congratulations to the club in reaching its ‘Pearl Anniversary’.

Up-dated information: On Saturday 11 December 2021 the WECWC had a celebratory walk from Dalreoch to Balloch (along the banks of the River Leven) followed by a meal at the Balloch Hotel [all courtesy of Dr Glenda White].

Here is a picture of four of the original founding members of the Walking Club formed in 1986.  The club is still running (walking!) some 35 years later!
